Hampton Downs 2k Cup Meeting

So I wandered down to Hampton Downs for the Motor Sport 2k cup meeting over the weekend, my primary reason was to test out my new Tamron 150-600 G2 lens, matching it up with the Nikon D500 body.  My primary option was to shoot low shutter speeds  panning. This was because I like to shoot Warbird Aviation where Panning is a huge part of the subject.
The G2 has a new image stabilizing option for panning and I must admit  I am pretty happy with it.
getting speeds down to 1/60th at 600 mm not to bad, and I am sure with better technique and practice could reach 1/30th with good results.
Attached are a few shots of the day,  Motor Sports not really what I like to photograph I decided to give a extra twerk in the post processing so they do not look  -  Ow its just another car. :).

RNZN 75th Anniversary

The 75th anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Navy was a couple weeks ago . A number of events were to take place but the weather decided not to play ball, there was also a earthquake in Kaikoura which saw some of the key attractions like the USS Samson divert to provide assistance. Well done lads.
The fleet was to arrive on the Thursday but this also conspired against us with the Navy pushing the arrival date last minute to the Wednesday spoiling the plans to photograph them inbound,

Anyway  below are a few images of the weekends event.

Steampunk Thames NZ

So three of us wandered of to Thames from Auckland for this event over the weekend
This did not start out so well was initial communication was the event was taking place in Waihi.
Heading to Waihi I may have taken a wrong turn as the Back Seat driver/ navigator was snoozing and failed to correct the driver on his error until well into the trip, he obviously needed a dose of meat and spuds to perk himself up.

A few images of the day with my photo of the day going to the below pet image .

This lad showing these two girls his fluffy wares, as you can see from the image
Hook Line and Sinker,  A man of many talents.  Was there a phone number exchanged ?
